Types of Players
The Irish Cerebral Palsy squad competes in international tournaments across a 4 year cycle competing in World Championships, European Championships, World Cup and finally a top eight tournament in the last year of the cycle. The squad represents the best players in Ireland with Cerebral Palsy and also those players who have acquired a traumatic brain injury of a stroke throughout their lives. The standard of football is very high at international level and players need to be playing at a good club standard with junior, senior or underage level. We as an association know there are players across Ireland playing football with these conditions who may not be aware of the opportunities to become an international player and represent their country at the highest level.
