The Ireland Women’s Under-17s will take on Belgium in back-to-back International Friendlies in Spain.

The fixtures will be the first outing of a new international season for a new-look squad as they build towards upcoming UEFA European Women’s Under-17 Championship Qualifiers.

International Lead Coach James Scott will be assisted by Megan Smyth-Lynch as they bring together a squad largely made up of players featuring in the SSE Airtricity Women’s Premier Division, Women’s Development League and LOI Academy WU17s.

Eleven players who previously played for the Women’s Under-16s are included, while Shamrock Rovers forward Aoibhe Galvin will be involved in an Ireland squad for the first time.

The games will aid the squad’s preparation for their EURO qualifiers in Albania against Azerbaijan (Monday, September 28th), Albania (Thursday, October 1st) and Kosovo (Sunday, October 4th).
