U21 | Baba Adeeko receives first U21 call-up

Wigan Athletic defender Baba Adeeko has been called into the Ireland Under-21s squad, replacing Newcastle United’s Alex Murphy.

It is the first Under-21s call-up for Adeeko who has represented Ireland previously at Men’s Under-19s level.

Murphy was ruled out after suffering an injury against Manchester City U21s on Saturday.

Adeeko will meet up with the squad ahead of Friday’s Under-21 EURO qualifier against Türkiye at Turner’s Cross, Cork. They then face San Marino on Tuesday, September 12.

Fans are advised to secure their seat for both games in advance. A duo deal is available that secures a seat for both qualifiers priced €15 adults, €10 for juniors and €40 for a family ticket (two adults and two juniors) - Ticketmaster charges apply.
