REVIEW | WNT 2023-24 UEFA Nations League

The Ireland Women’s National Team completed their 2023-24 UEFA Women’s Nations League campaign with six straight wins to achieve promotion to League A.

Here is a breakdown of the relevant statistics from the campaign:

NOTES

- Ireland finished joint top in teams who won all six games, alongside Turkiye

- Ireland were third in goals scored (20) and joint third in goals conceded (2) alongside Kosovo, Finland, Israel and Azerbaijan

- Five goals for Kyra Carusa brings her overall total up to seven, thus elevating her to joint 10th in the WNT All-Time Goalscoring Charts

- Six competitive wins in a row is a new record for WNT (they did win six games in 2022 but one of which was an International Friendly)

- Diane Caldwell became the seventh WNT player to reach 100 caps, while Megan Connolly became the 14th WNT player to reach 50 caps

- Katie McCabe’s hat-trick in the home win over Albania was her second WNT hat-trick; becoming just the second player to achieve this feat after Olivia O’Toole

- Caitlin Hayes was the only debutant during the UEFA Nations League campaign but was the seventh overall in 2023 (Aoife Mannion, Deborah-Anne De La Harpe, Marissa Sheva, Sinead Farrelly, Tara O’Hanlon, Erin McLaughlin)

- Fourteen games in a calendar year is a new record for the WNT – starting in February and ending in December
