REPORT | WU16 | Ireland 3-0 Iceland

The Ireland Women's Under-16s recorded their second victory of the 2026 UEFA Development Tournament in Finland with a 3-0 triumph over Iceland.

Second-half goals from Ellen Goggin, Leah Hannon and Ciara Milton wrapped up a deserved win following a confident performance from Ireland.

A fast start saw Ireland put their opponents under pressure with Mia Whelan and Goggin both going close with excellent opportunities inside the first 15 minutes.

Iceland rallied back just before the interval but one minute into the second period the first meaningful strike came from Treaty United attacker Goggin after she connected with a pass from captain Lara Dallaghan.

The Girls in Green netted their second goal on 58 minutes when Bohemians star Hannon earned her first international goal when she reacted quickest to a rebound inside the penalty area.

Shamrock Rovers forward Milton notched her sixth goal at this level on 70 minutes when her clever movement at the back post put her in the perfect position to make it 3-0 to Ireland.

Ireland: Sarah Doyle; Norah Pustay (Leah Hannon 55), Lara Dallaghan (Abbie Duffy 63), Ruby Boland (Keela Donnelly Meehan 63), Ava Hallinan; Leah O'Leary Callender, Fiadh Woods (Hailey Twomey 55); Skye Barrett (Ava Kelly 72), Ellen Goggin (Ciara Milton 55), Emily Staunton (Halle Harcourt 46); Mia Whelan (Maisy Healy 55).
