Shamrock Rovers stopper Quinn saved one spot-kick and fired in his own to help Ireland win the shoot-out 6-5 in this 8v8 formatted game that is played across two 20-minute halves.
Ireland took the lead on two minutes when Shelbourne's Darragh Nolan provided the perfect low finish from inside the right-hand side of the opposition's penalty area.
Cameroon then scored twice on five minutes and 17 minutes before Fionn McCormack Crowe made it 2-2 on 20 minutes when he followed in a shot from Conor Hudson that was rebounded into his path and he converted.
Again, Cameroon scored twice in a row but Ireland kept on going and got a just reward when Harry Rehill applied a first-time finish from a neat pass inside from Billy Carney.
On 39 minutes, Rehill saw his excellent shot from distance come back off the post but the last meaningful act of the game saw Nathan Power rise highest to meet a corner kick with a brilliant header to make it 4-4 and bring the game to a penalty shoot-out.
In the shoot-out, Ireland converted through Rehill, Robert Morgan, Hudson, Power, Tom Casey and Quinn, while the Irish keeper also pulled off a superb save but the decisive kick saw the Cameroon goalkeeper fire over the crossbar.
There is one game left for Ireland to play on Friday, October 30th - which will be their 10th game of this tournament - and they will be aiming to finish on a high after such brilliant performances.
