The Ireland Men’s Under-15s suffered a 7-2 defeat to Brazil in their Round of 32 game in the 2026 FIFA Men’s Under-15 World Cup in Baku, Azerbaijan.

After topping Group C by going five games unbeaten, Ireland faced a quality opponent on their fifth day in the inaugural tournament, which is an 8v8 format played across two 20-minute halves.

Brazil took the lead on five minutes following a swift counter attack forward, but Ireland pulled level on 13 minutes when Shamrock Rovers defender Tom Casey headed in.

The speed and strength of Brazil started to show as they scored four more goals before Billy Carney got Ireland's second goal from a sweet finish from the edge of the penalty area.

Brazil netted twice more but the spirit and effort from the Boys in Green never wavered. They will next take on Northern Ireland in a Round of 16 game as their involvement in the tournament continues.
