MU17 | O'Brien names squad of 20 for qualifiers in Cork

The road to the UEFA European Under-17s Championships begins this week with Ireland Men’s Under-17s Head Coach Colin O’Brien naming a squad of 20 for three qualifiers in Cork.

Ireland face Armenia (Wednesday, October 11), Iceland (Saturday, October 14), and Switzerland (Tuesday, October 17) in games at Turner’s Cross as they bid to qualify for the U17 EUROs in Cyprus.

Seven players from the group were part of O’Brien’s squad in the last campaign where they reached the last eight of the competition and those players coupled with players who were involved in Ireland’s 1-0 win over Belgium last month will be looking to advance to the Elite Round next Spring.

Of the squad 12 currently play in the League of Ireland, with Matthew Moore and Ike Orazi having featured in the LOI last year.

Games hosted at the Mardyke Arena are free to enter.
