Ireland WNT ready for return to Rebel County

It is 12 years since the Ireland Women's National Team last played a home game outside of Dublin and that happened to be in Cork. Now they are set to return.

On Tuesday, July 16th, the Girls in Green will take on France in Páirc Uí Chaoimh in their final EURO 2025 group qualifier. It promises to be an event not be missed.

While it will be the first time that an international football game will be played in Páirc Uí Chaoimh, it will be the seventh time that the WNT will have played in the Rebel County.

Ireland will have played 117 games between their last visit to Cork in June 2012 and this Group A3 qualifier. It will also be the third time that Ireland will have hosted France in the county following games in Turner's Cross in 1994 and 2011.

There is a strong Cork connection within the current WNT squad with Denise O'Sullivan from Knocknaheeny, Megan Connolly from Turner's Cross, Eva Mangan from Ballygarvan and Lily Agg having roots in Cobh, while Assistant Coach Colin Healy is from Ballincollig.

Tickets are selling well for this game and supporters are encouraged to secure their seats to be part of what should be a memorable occasion.
