Greystones United earn Club Mark Entry Award

Huge strides have been made at Greystones United and that is reflected in the club earning the FAI Club Mark Entry Level Award.

Greystones United AFC was founded in 1969. Its main pitches and clubhouse are based in Woodlands Greystones which is beside the South Beach in Greystones village but the club also also has a pitch in Archfield, Victoria road in Greystones. The club has 3 11 a side pitches including 1 all weather pitch and 4 small sided grass pitches.

Its current form is an amalgmation of two clubs Greystones United and Greystones AFC which merged in 2015.

The club has 54 teams and 1100 players playing across 6 different leagues including the WDSL, DDSL, MGL, LSL, WDL and two teams now playing in the Womens National League at under 17 and 19. Greystones United was one of the founding clubs of the Womens National League in 2018 and currently particpates in the WNL in partnership with Bray Wanderers.

The club has teams competing at the highest levels in underage schoolboy/schoolgirl leagues. It has enjoyed a huge growth in girls football over the last number of years with now 10 teams across all age groups and the U14 girls recently reaching the SFAI Cup final. It has had a large representation of players playing at interleague level over the years and some has some notable ex players currently playing in the UK and the League of Ireland.

The club would like to thank the following people who contributed to achieving the Club Mark, the club operations team of Kiersten O Brien, Liz Gaines and Eddie Butler, the safeguarding Director Declan Lynch and the Womens Academy Director Michelle Healy.
