As part of its continued support for the development of women & girls' football, the Football Association of Ireland (FAI) will engage with stakeholders from all levels of the game to help shape its 2027-2029 FAI Women & Girls' Football Action Plan.

The Women & Girls’ Department has been engaging with clubs, leagues and various stakeholders across the country over recent months, gathering insight from across the game, while an online survey will also allow others to share their views and experiences.

The feedback will help to identify opportunities and challenges, with the ambition of creating more opportunities for people to get started, stay involved and have a positive impact in women & girls' football.

"There has been phenomenal growth in women & girls' football over recent years, thanks to the qualification of our Ireland Women's National Team to their first ever FIFA Women's World Cup, a surge in popularity and improved standards in the SSE Airtricity Women's Premier Division, increased media coverage, fantastic support from partners and stakeholders, as well as fantastic work done by so many people at grassroots level.

"There are now more girls playing football in Ireland than ever, more female coaches, more female referees, more female volunteers, more women in leadership positions and more people engaged in women & girls' football. We must continue to build on that and make sure that we keep all of those women and girls involved in our game, which is why getting the views of different people is really important in helping to shape our Action Plan."
