Born in London, Hourihan qualifies through her father and mother who hail from Cork and Roscommon respectively. She first represented the Republic of Ireland at senior level against Hungary in 2017.
Having come through Fulham's Centre of Excellence, the agile goalkeeper moved on to Watford before starting her senior career with Manchester City.
There were stops at Chelsea, Birmingham City and Brighton & Hove Albion before she moved to Portugal with SC Braga.
