From Galway, Niamh is a versatile player who can play across the back four and in midfield. Previously played for Salthill Devon.

She has been named Senior International Player of the Year on three occasions in the past.

Missed over a year after sustaining a cruciate ligament injury in April 2013 but returned in style when she won an English FA Cup winners medal with Arsenal in what was only her second 90 minutes of the season. After winning every honour in the English game with the Gunners she transfered to Chelsea for the 2015 English League season and won the English League and Cup double, before moving on to Liverpool.

Captained Ireland for the first time against Slovakia at the 2015 Istria Cup. Niamh scored her first senior goal, on her 104th appearance, away to Georgia in June 2022.
