WU19/U17: Elite Round draw made for 2019

The path to next summer's UEFA European Championships has become a little clearer for both the Republic of Ireland Women's Under-19 & U-17 teams after learning of their Elite Round opponents.

There is a lot on the line for Dave Connell's WU19s as the finals, which will be held in Spain, will act as UEFA's qualifier for the 2020 FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup.

Connell's team, who went unbeaten in the Qualifying Round (scoring 13 goals and not conceding any), will travel to Spain in April 2019 to take on the hosts and current holders of the competition, as well as Hungary and Serbia.

The group winner will secure passage through to the finals in Scotland, which will be staged from July 16-28.

Colin Bell will prepare his WU17 squad to visit Scotland in March 2019 for their Elite Round games against the hosts, as well as Germany and Norway. A place in the finals in Bulgaria is up for grabs for the group winner.

The draws for the 2019/20 Qualifying Round were also made with the WU19s facing Montenegro, Netherlands, and Ukraine with the games being played in the Netherlands in October 2019.

The WU17s will head for Lithuania in September 2019 for their games against Albania, Greece, and Lithuania.
