World champions Ukraine prove too strong for Ireland
After winning four games from four in Group A, Ireland lost 3-0 to World Champions Ukraine in the last four.
Although finisihing second in Group B, Ukraine have a storied pedigree in CP Football, winning gold at the 2016 Paralympics along with last year's IFCPF CP World Football Chmapionships.
In a very tense first-half, Ireland had numerous chances to take the lead, but were unable to find the back of the net. Ukraine scored just before the break, and never looked back. Vitalli Romanchuk scored what proved to be the winner, seven minutes before half-time
Romanchuk scored again after the break to double their lead. Ireland began to chase the game in search of two goals. Ukraine scored their third on a counter-attack in the last moments of the game. Ivan Donenko did enough to slot the ball past Mark Barry.
Focus now turns to Sunday afternoon, where the side will face either Russia or the Netherlands at 1.30pm (2.30pm local time)
