Manager Sue Ronan made seven changes from the 0-0 draw on Friday and handed Sabdh Doyle, Chloe Moloney, Saoirse Noonan, Alex Kavanagh and Shauna Fox their international debuts.

Ireland went behind in the first-half thanks to a Nadia Lawrence free-kick but rallied in the second-half to secure an impressive victory.

Meabh De Burca, Stephanie Roche and McCabe were introduced at the break and it was McCabe who scored a late brace in the final ten minutes of the game, with the winner coming in stoppage, to hand the young Irish side the victory.

Speaking after the win, Ronan was delighted with the victory and praised the importance of the training camp.

Ronan said: "It was a really positive performance from the team again. We went behind in the first-half but we came out in the second-half and showed great character to come back from behind to win.

"We started with a number of youngsters again to make sure they got their first taste of international football so we were lacking the cutting edge up front. I brought a few of the senior players on at half-time and they really helped us dominate the game and get the win.

"It has been a really worthwhile trip and the most pleasing thing for me is that the young players who've come into the squad have stepped up to the level required which should give us great hope for the future.

"Everyone got game time and didn't look out of place which shows they've all got the potential to make the step up. The players have got to continue to work hard and develop their game to progress, and I'm they'll do that.

Ireland are set to play against Portugal in the final UEFA European Championships qualifying game on Tuesday, September 20th at the Tallaght Stadium.

Ronan believes there are a number of players who could have worked their way into the squad for the Portugal test and praised the performances of Jetta Burrill and Emma Beckett.

Ronan continued: "It does give me a selection headache for the Portugal game which is a great problem to have. There is a number of players who've played really well and will have to be considered for that game.

"In particular, Jetta Berrill played excellently over the two games and Emma Beckett who was recalled to the squad did herself no harm either. There were great performances throughout the squad.

"It's important we get a result against Portugal to help with our international seeding and I'm sure some of the players which have featured on this trip can help us do that.

"Overall, I'm extremely pleased with the training camp and the games as it has really shown that the future of the national team is bright."
