Giovanni Trapattoni will be in Abbotstown on Monday to announce the group of players who will take part in the senior international summer training camp.

Trapattoni will oversee a training camp in Dublin from May 16th – 21st to assess his players and get them ready for the upcoming Euro 2012 qualification campaign. The training camp will be an extremely useful exercise, especially for some of the younger players hoping to break into the squad.

A similar training camp was held in summer 2008 and Trapattoni believes initiatives such as this are vital to the squad’s preparation. The previous training camp helped Trapattoni to identify several players, most notably Glenn Whelan, who went on to become a leading member of the squad for the World Cup qualification campaign.
