Ticket sales for home leg of World Cup play-offs

Ticket holders for the World Cup qualifying tie against Montenegro at Croke Park on Wednesday, October 14, will be given first option on ticket purchase for Ireland's home leg of the play-off tie.

The draw for the two-legged play-offs will be made by FIFA on Monday next, October 19, and matches are certain to be of maximum interest. The games are scheduled to be played on November 14 and 18 with Ireland hoping their home match will be played on Wednesday, the 18th.

That will not be decided until Monday next when FIFA will make a second draw after the four pairings have been drawn. The second draw will be to decide the order of matches.

The Football Association of Ireland has announced that holders of ticket stubs for the Republic of Ireland v Montenegro World Cup qualifier on October 14 will be favoured when the tickets for the home leg of the play-offs will go on sale.

Under the FAI ticket scheme, existing members (block bookers) will be guaranteed their normal allocation of tickets for the home leg of the play-offs.

To apply, those fans who are not existing FAI ticket scheme members, but who purchase their tickets through ticketmaster.ie or through the FAI Umbro store, should send their Montenegro ticket stub by post to the FAI, following the Montenegro game on October 14.

Ticket stubs will be accepted on a first come, first served basis, and must be accompanied by the applicant's name, address and telephone number, to be received by post at FAI headquarters, no later than October 21.

Tickets are still available to purchase for the Montenegro game at the FAI Umbro Store. (10am to 4pm, Mon to Wed) and will be valid for applications under this scheme -

A limited number of tickets are also available through ticketmaster.ie. Tickets start from €50.

PLAY-OFF APPLICATION SCHEME (Home leg)

Applications, with Montenegro ticket stubs, name, address and telephone number and optional e-mail address, should be sent by post to:

Only applications accompanied by the applicant's name, address and telephone number will be accepted.

Applications are subject to availability and will be dealt with on a first come first served basis.

Applications will not be accepted after October 21.

Successful applicants will be contacted by the FAI.

The date of the home leg of the play-offs will be determined at the FIFA draw on Monday October 19. This home leg will take place on either November 14 or November 18, depending on the draw.

Existing FAI ticket scheme members (block bookers) will be guaranteed their normal allocation of tickets for the home leg of the play-off game.

Those fans who purchase tickets through leagues and clubs under the FAI ticket scheme can obtain tickets through their normal club/league contact.
