Having narrowly lost the first of two games, Tom Elmes's team bounced back with an impressive display that saw them net three goals against a very strong opponent.

Hannah O'Brien got things started on the half hour mark when she pounced inside the penalty area after the Swiss goalkeeper dropped a free-kick that flew straight at her. A quick reaction from O'Brien gave Ireland their first goal.

The second goal was a bit special as a loose ball fell in front of Sorcha Melia and from around 25 yards out she hit a wonderful strike that zipped into the top corner of the opposition's net.

For the third goal, substitute Libby Bermingham rose highest to meet a corner kick and direct a header in. That was enough to guide Ireland to victory despite conceding one.

Elmes will be upbeat about his team's performance and their confidence in taking on opportunities in front of goal. This was a positive way to cap off the year.
