Regions' Cup side end campaign with a draw
North Riding from England played out a 1-1 draw with Munster and Ulster in a game that saw England take the lead in 17th-minute against the run of play some errors in the Irish defence.
The goal knocked the Irish confidence and the tactics adopted by Ireland proved ineffective against a well disaplined English back four.
Things went from bad to worse for the Irish when David Stack was sent off in the 52nd-minute after a reckless challenge.
Ireland played their best football of the tournament after the sending off and the game opened up with both sides going all out to score.
England had a golden opportunity to go two up in the 87th-minute when a cross evaded everyone only for the England forward to miss a from the goal line from the resulting clearance the Irish broke with Cian O' Connor setting up Shane Ryan who scored the goal of the tournament with a sublime strike from outside the box to end England's chances of finishing top.
The Irish Technical Staff will try and take positives from the week but will feel we could of performed much better, but the lack of genuine scoring chances in all three games is a worry going forward.
