O'Brien urges fans to support team in Cork

Republic of Ireland Under-17 Head Coach Colin O'Brien is urging the Cork public to come out and support the side ahead of three crucial UEFA European Under-17 Championship qualifiers games next week.
5th Nov 2019

Ireland will play three matches at Turner's Cross for games against Andorra (November 12), Montenegro (November 15), Israel (November 18).

Cork-native O'Brien, who spent more than 13 years on Leeside with Cork City, said: “When the opportunity came to host these qualifiers I was delighted that the FAI got on the front foot and we were able to play our games at, in my view, one of the best stadiums in the country – it gives us an advantage.

"Turner's Cross is well known for its atmosphere and the Cork public has always come out and supported Irish teams and I urge them to do so again. In recent years there’s been a lot of positive talk about Ireland underage teams and I think hosting the Euro Under-17 Championships in May showed people what talent we have. Those games were well attended and I’ve every hope Cork will turnout for these games too. “

Fans can pay at the turnstiles at Turner's Cross. Admission to the games are €5 for Adults and free for Under 16s.

Cork City, Cobh Ramblers and FAI season ticket holders can gain free access to the games by showing their season tickets at the turnstiles.
