O’Neill names provisional squad for Gibraltar & Georgia

Martin O'Neill has named a provisional 37-man squad for Ireland's UEFA Euro 2016 Group D qualifier against Gibraltar in Faro, Portugal on Friday, September 4, and the UEFA Euro 2016 Group D qualifier against Georgia in Aviva Stadium on Monday, September 7.
18th Aug 2015

Today’s provisional squad announcement sees the inclusion of Bournemouth’s Eunan O’Kane, who earns a first senior call-up and is joined by the uncapped duo of Brentford’s Alan Judge and Aberdeen’s Adam Rooney.

The squad will be shortened ahead of assembling on the evening of August 30.

Speaking at today's press conference at the FAI headquarters, Republic of Ireland manager Martin O’Neill said: “These are two very important games in our qualifying campaign and we are looking forward to them. The players are all now back in action with their respective clubs and will be ready for these games.

“We will be training at the new FAI National Training Centre in preparation for the trip to Faro to take on Gibraltar and the home game against Georgia at Aviva Stadium. The facilities are very impressive and we look forward to making this our training base for all future international camps.”

Tickets are currently on general sale for the Georgia game through www.ticketmaster.ie and are also available through clubs and leagues. See fai.ie for details.
