Mohan's U17s face difficult group in Serbia
The Republic of Ireland U17 squad will travel to Serbia for the Elite Phase of the 2013-14 UEFA U17 Championships following today's draw at UEFA headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland.
Tom Mohan's U17 squad, who were fourth seeds, were drawn against Germany, Serbia and Georgia.
The U17s qualified for the Elite Phase after finishing second in a group that contained England, Armenia and Gibraltar and will travel to Serbia for games on March 26, 28 and 31.
The draws for the Qualifying Rounds of the 2014-15 UEFA U17 Championships also took place today in Nyon and Ireland will host a qualifying group that contains Scotland, Faroe Islands and Gibraltar with the matches taking place on September 22, 24 and 27.
After all today's draws were completed Republic of Ireland U17 manager Tom Mohan said: "We were fourth seeds and the top two seeds are always going to handy. It is very similar to the group we had at the Elite Phase last year as both Serbia and Georgia were in it and the only difference is Germany instead of Austria which probably makes it a lot tougher. We know it is going to be tough and the defeat by England in our final qualifying round game was a probably a good reality check. We know the standard we have to aspire to and we will start preparing now by setting up friendly matches while continuing to look at players. On the plus side it's great that we will have next season's Qualifying Round at home. That gives players an added incentive to make the squad."
Venues for all the matches will be finalised at a later date.
