Paul McShane has been ruled out of the Republic of Ireland's forthcoming EURO 2012 qualifier against Armenia on this Friday, August 3 with a hamstring injury. He has returned to his club and if he responds positively to treatment, he will report for duty for the second qualifier against Andorra on September 7.
He joins Keith Treacy, Keith Andrews and Damien Duff who are also absent due to injury.
Darren O'Dea underwent a scan this (Tuesday) afternoon which revealed a minor sprain to his knee joint but no serious damage. He will be reassessed in the morning by the FAI medical team and subsequently a decision will be made regarding whether he will travel to Armenia for the opening EURO qualifier.
