IRLU21 Access | Episode 1 | Wales U21 v Ireland U21
The episode follows the team in the days before their first game of 2021 with footage from inside team and player meetings as well as insights from U21 Lead Performance Analyst Martin Doyle and Ipswich Town & Arsenal defender Mark McGuinness.
Ireland U21s Manager Jim Crawford said: “It’s the start of a new journey for us all - the players, the staff and the fans.
“A lot of hard work goes on behind-the-scenes and at a time when the team and supporters are having to keep their distance, we want fans to feel a part of this journey and see what goes into being part of an international team.
“Our team isn’t just the players on the pitch it’s the coaches and the backroom staff who work to a top-class level to ensure our players are prepared in the best possible way.
“Win, lose or draw, I’m sure that will come across in these episodes as our campaign progresses.”
Ireland fought back from a goal down in Wales to win 2-1 thanks to an equalising goal from Jonathan Afolabi and an own goal. They will next be in action in June with a summer tournament being lined-up for the new generation of U21s.
Ireland kick off their 2023 European Championship qualifiers in September with away games against Bosnia & Herzegovina and Luxembourg.
