Irish manager, Susan Ronan has handed an international call-up to Portlaoise FC keeper, Kiev Dollard after Reading's Grace Maloney withdrew from the squad due to a foot injury.

Also facing Ireland in the first qualifying phase which will be held in Croatia from September 19-24 are the Faroe Islands and Finland with two teams progressing to the elite qualifying phase of the competition.

Irish manager, Susan Ronan said, "Obviously it was disappointing to lose keeper, Grace Maloney yesterday but I am delighted to call upon Kiev Dollard from Portlaoise who we have been looking at for some time and I have no doubt that she will take this opportunity to prove to us what a quality keeper she really is."

Speaking ahead of the opening match of the campaign against Croatia, Ronan said, "I know every match in a qualifying group is going to be key but this game is going to be an important factor on who actually qualifies for the next phase of the competition. Whoever loses tomorrow will face an uphill battle and will have to get positive results in the remaining games against Finland and the Faroe Islands which is not a task which either team will want to do."

"In preparation for tomorrow's match, we enjoyed a light training session at a local venue and thankfully, we do not have any major injury worries in the squad. It is a really young and slightly inexperienced group but there is only one way to get experience and I am sure that they will all grasp at the chance of qualifying for the elite qualifying phase ahead or our rivals," said Ronan.
