Irish women U17’s set for European Championship qualifiers

The Republic of Ireland women's U17 side return to action this week-end as they begin their UEFA Championship qualifying campaign in Co. Antrim where they will face Macedonia, Czech Republic and the tournament hosts, Northern Ireland.

The Republic of Ireland women's U17 side return to action this week-end as they begin their UEFA Championship qualifying campaign in Co. Antrim where they will face Macedonia, Czech Republic and the tournament hosts, Northern Ireland.


Ireland will begin their first qualifying phase with a mouth-watering opening game against neighbours, Northern Ireland in Portadown on Saturday (October 16) before they face Macedonia at the Seaview Stadium in Belfast on Monday (October 18). Ireland complete the first qualifying phase against a highly rated Czech Republic side on Thursday (October 21) at Mourneview Park in Lurgan. Only the top two teams will advance to the elite qualifying phase which will take place early next year.


Republic of Ireland manager, Harry Kenny (pictured) has selected seven players who featured in last year's UEFA Championship and FIFA World Cup campaign including Rianna Jarrett, Denise O'Sullivan, goalkeeper, Jill Moloney, Amanda Budden, Emma Hansberry, Rebecca Kearney and Claire Shine.
