Ireland WU17: Ziu named in squad for Czech friendlies
Ireland WNT international Jessica Ziu has been named in Colin Bell's squad for the upcoming Under-17 Internationals against Czech Republic in Waterford.
Shelbourne's Ziu made her senior international debut last month against Northern Ireland in a FIFA Women's World Cup Qualifier in Tallaght Stadium.
The team play two games in Co. Waterford later this month, with Tramore AFC, and the Regional Sports Centre hosting matches.
It will be the second time in just over a year, Colin Bell's side face the Czech Republic, having narrowly lost two friendlies away from home last September.
Speaking at the squad announcement, Bell said Ziu's progression to the senior team shows the clear pathway for players at WU17 level.
"Jessica is the latest player to play for our senior team, and follows in the footsteps of players like Tyler Toland, Isibeal Atkinson and Amy Boyle Carr who all played with the Under-17s last year.
"I have already worked with some of the players in the squad before, and look forward to testing ourselves against the Czech Republic."
Ireland's first game against Czech Republic takes place on September 15th in Tramore AFC.
