THE Republic of Ireland Under-19 Women's team could clinch qualification for the UEFA Championships finals tomorrow if they can beat Holland and a result goes their way when Austria meet Turkey.

Dave Connell's side beat top seeds Austria 1-0 on Saturday while the Netherlands – who are the tournament hosts – beat Turkey 2-0 in their game.

That has set-up a scenario where it could be winner takes all in the Netherlands-Ireland game at Ermelo with an Irish win combined with an Austria victory or draw with the Turks sealing their place in the finals in Norway this summer.

"We know that if we win tomorrow and the result in the other game goes our way we'd be through. It brings its own little bit of pressure but it doesn't seem to be showing on the girls," said Connell.

"They're on a high after winning a very difficult game. We're playing the Dutch on their home turf and we're up for it. We've watched them and studied the DVD.

"Everybody is fit so it is just a case of getting the game plan together. If we defend as well as we did yesterday we'll always have a chance of nicking a goal with players like Clare Shine and Megan Connolly in our set-up.

"Holland are a similar level to Austria. They play the traditional Dutch style with sitting players and attacking in wide areas. They have two good centre-backs who can hit long cross-field passes so they have quality.

"Their No 10 Jill Roord seems to get their goals so we'll have to take care of her. We won't be going into the game fazed in any way."
