Ireland U-21: Duo ruled out of Armenia & Sweden

Michael Obafemi and Nathan Collins have been ruled out of the Republic of Ireland Under-21 squad due to injury.

Ross County winger Simon Power and Southampton defender Kameron Ledwidge has been called up to replace them, and they will link up with the squad on Monday.

Power was part of the Maurice Revello Tournament squad and he started in the 0-0 draw against Mexico U-23s, and made substitute appearances against China, Bahrain and Brazil.

Ledwidge was part of the Republic of Ireland U-19 squad who reached the semi-finals of the UEFA U-19 European Championships in July and has now been called up to the U-21 squad for the first time.

Stephen Kenny's squad will report on Monday, September 2 for the home match against Armenia on Friday, September 6 and the trip to Sweden on Tuesday, September 10.

Centre Midfielders: Jayson Molumby (Millwall, on loan from Brighton and Hove Albion), Jason Knight (Derby County), Conor Coventry (West Ham United), Jake Doyle-Hayes (Cheltenham Town, on loan from Aston Villa).

Attacking Midfielders: Jack Taylor (Barnet), Dan Mandroiu (Bohemians), Gavin Kilkenny (AFC Bournemouth), Zack Elbouzedi (Waterford), Simon Power (Ross County).

Forwards: Adam Idah (Norwich City), Jonathan Afolabi (Celtic), Aaron Connolly (Brighton and Hove Albion), Troy Parrott (Tottenham Hotspur).
