Ferrycarrig Park, the home of Wexford Youths FC, has been chosen as the venue to host the Under-17 double-header friendly between the Republic of Ireland and Serbia on Tuesday, September 13 and Thursday, September 15, 2011.

These will be first games of the campaign for John Morling's Ireland squad, being used as preparation for the first phase qualifiers of the UEFA Under-17 Championship to be played in Kazakhstan from October 18-24. Ireland will  face Liechtenstein, Kazakhstan and Czech Republic in the round-robin qualification mini-group aiming to clinch one of two berths into next spring's elite stage.

Morling has unveiled a squad of 19 players for these pair of warm-up matches. All except one of the players last season won caps under Morling, who is also Under-16 Head Coach. Millwall striker Conor Wilkinson is the only newcomer to the international set-up.

Most of last season's squad have been snapped up by UK clubs, including leading scorer from the campaign Gary O'Neill, who moved to Wolverhampton Wanderers. Another attacker, team captain Sam Byrne, has joined Manchester United. Morling has also named five home-based players in his panel, two of whom play for Dublin club Cherry Orchard.
