REPORT | Ireland MU19 1-1 Bosnia & Herzegovina MU19

Ireland got off to the perfect start thanks to a strike from Johnny Kenny midway through the first half but were pulled back to level terms just before halftime.
Despite chances in the second half for both sides, neither could make a breakthrough and a point was shared.
The Republic of Ireland took the game to the hosts with an early chance from Sinclair Armstrong that forced a smart save from Šahinovic.
They didn’t have to wait long after that to take the lead as on 25 minutes Kenny struck home from an assist from Jack Henry-Francis. Henry-Francis ran from a deep position into the box and with a clever cut-back he sent the ball to the edge to Kenny with the Sligo Rovers man finishing it on his left foot in what was a well-worked goal.
Bosnia equalised courtesy of striker Aleksandar Kahvić who was on hand to slot past Arlo Doherty just before halftime.
Following the interval, Kenny had an early sight on goal to put Ireland back in the lead which forced a smart save from Muhamed Šahinović. Kahvić also had a chance to add to his tally with a clear chance on goal however his shot just went wide of Doherty’s post.
Armstrong had another shot on goal but his effort was blocked down by the Bosnia defence. Ed McJannet's free-kick resulted in a corner but Ireland could not capitalise on the set-piece. Andrew Moran and Bosun Lawal both had chances for Ireland respectively but both couldn’t find the target.
Tayo Adaramola had a chance to win the game late on but his effort missed the target.
This was a crucial point in terms of qualification as Mohan's side face Montenegro in Dobrich next Tuesday.
