Sporting Fingal/EID claimed their first FAI Futsal Cup title after a thrilling 4-2 final victory over Blue Magic at the BRL Umbro Arena.

The game was a great advert for futsal with keepers Keith Gallagher and Rafal Wirkus - later named player of the tournament - both impressing early on.

Blue Magic hit the post with an early header by Artur Opeldus and the same player opened the scoring with a powerful free-kick after 12 minutes.

Kladiusz Rybek then hit the Fingal post with a low strike after 15 minutes as Blue Magic pressed for a second.

However Fingal soon settled and Wirkus had to make two brilliant saves to deny Rodrigo De Melo.

De Melo's skill created the equaliser for Marco Prudencio to tap home with 18 seconds to go in half and remarkable Sporting then hit a post through Hygo Cezar before the break.

Hygo Cezar gave Sporting the lead with a brilliant shot on the turn eight seconds into the second half.

The same player then struck a post with a low strike seven minutes later before Artur Opeldus shot just wide after a brilliant dribble in from right.

Man of the match Cezar then hit crossbar with long range shot in the 29th minute and De Melo had a shot blocked on the line by Bartosz Paszkiewicz two minutes later.

Mark Langtry gave Sporting control when he finished off after good work by De Melo and Cezar with three minutes left.

Isiais Lima produced a stunning long range effort in the 38th minute to make it 4-1 and although Krystof Jasinski pulled one back in the same minute, Sporting held firm to claim the title for the first time.
