Lucan United earn FAI Club Mark

Dublin's Lucan United are the latest club to earn the FAI Club Mark Entry Level Award.

Established in 1969 and situated in Airlie Heights, Lucan United FC has served the community for 51 years supplying structured football for Boys, Girls and Adults.

Developing over the years both girls & boys who become junior and senior Internationals. Several schoolboys players have gone on to play in England and Scotland with clubs such as Liverpool, Bournemouth, Preston North End and Celtic. Others now play in SSE Airtricity League.

Lucan United FC prides itself on working with young players and giving them both physical and social skills. Their focus over the next three years is to continue this work while improving the facilities we have to offer our players. The club currently has 28 Schoolboys teams, 8 Schoolgirls teams, 3 Seniors team and an Over-35 team.

The FAI Club Mark is free and optional for clubs and aims to:

•          Improve the management of clubs ‘off the field’

•          Establish and promote best practice

•          Empower and support clubs

•          Recognise and reward clubs for achieving high standards

•          Increase a club’s capacity to operate effectively and grow football in communities throughout Ireland.
