FAI FÁS coaches hold camps in Tanzania
Over the last 2 weeks a group of three female coaches from the FAI/FÁS course in Clondalkin, along with an FAI Coach have delivered a coach/volunteer workshop and youth sports camps in Tanzania as part of a project in the Mwanga/Kilamanjaro region.

The project has been organised in conjunction with Development Perspectives, an Irish NGO and their Tanzanian partners (Uvikiuta). Development Perspectives works to raise awareness and understanding of important development challenges such as poverty, inequality, conflict, injustice which is faced by people around the world.
More than 80 young people per day took part in the sports camp with 14 local volunteers also taking part in a coach education workshop designed to introduce basic coaching skills. As part of the support for this project the FAI have donated t-shirts and footballs from the Intercultural Football Programme to Development Perspectives, Limerick side, Ashling Annacotty F.C. generously donated a set of kit while Sony have donated two camcorders to enable the coaches to capture their experiences as part of a video diary.
