FAI Cup Second Round fixtures this weekend

The Irish Daily Mail FAI Cup second round is set to take place this weekend with a number of huge ties.
17th Aug 2018

The second round will see two non-league teams look to extend their run in the competition. CIE Ranch, who recorded a late win over Dublin Bus in the first round, welcome First Division leaders UCD to Greenogue on Friday, August 24, with kick-off at 7.45pm.

Maynooth University Town secured a comfortable 2-0 win over Leeds in the first round and their reward is a trip to SSE Airtricity League and FAI Cup Champions Cork City on Friday, August 24, with kick-off at 7.45pm.

There will be a repeat of the 2012 FAI Cup Final as St. Patrick's Athletic face Derry City at the Brandywell Stadium in the only all-Premier Division tie of the round. There is also a huge tie in Galway as Bohemians face a tough trip to Eamonn Deacy Park as they look to extend their run in the competition.

All but one fixture will be played on Friday, August 24 with Shelbourne's trip to the City Calling Stadium to face Longford Town on Saturday, August 25, with kick-off at 7.30pm.

As per the first round, we'll have reporters at every match in the second round and you can head to www.sseairtricityleague.ie to follow every game across the second round.
