Carrick Town become first Sligo/Leitrim side to earn Club Mark

Congratulations to Carrick Town FC, who are the first club in the Sligo/Leitrim League to attain the FAI Club Mark Entry Level standard.

Carrick Town FC was established in 1976 with the purpose of promoting football in Carrick-on-Shannon and the wider area. They are a growing club with 18 teams catering to boys and girls and nearly 300 members.

The club was eager to achieve the FAI Club Mark Award to demonstrate they are going in the right direction and to highlight that they continue to set and attain high standards both on and off the pitch.

Local development Damon Kearney worked hard to assist the club achieve the award. Damon said;

‘’Being awarded the FAI Club Mark is a great recognition to the hard work and standards set by all the coaches, volunteers and committee members in the club.’’

The FAI Club Mark is an Award for grassroots clubs based on how well the club is managed off the pitch. The journey challenges clubs to implement policies and procedures in line with best practice.
