AUL face Inishowen in Oscar Traynor final
This Sunday see’s the FAI Junior Council close their season with the final of the Oscar Traynor Cup down for decision in Tolka Park with a 2pm kick-off when the Dublin AUL play hosts to the Inishowen League.
The AUL go in to the final as clear favourites and are going for their third back to back Oscar Traynor Cup titles.
The Inishowen League make their first appearance in the final and are not to be underestimated after beating fancied Wexford 2-0 in the semi-final. Their squad has exceeded all expectations and this is in no small part to the excellent planning and preparation of Manager Diarmuid O’Brien and the AUL will not find it easy with all the pressure on them to deliver.
The bulk of Paul O’Brien’s squad are made up of players from Sheriff YC and Kilbarrack Utd who contested all the National, Provinicial and Domestic titles this season and the players have the chance to add another medal to their collection on Sunday.
The final promises to be a interesting affair on paper the Inishowen League should be no match for the might of the AUL but in football you never know, but one thing is certain Inishowen will turn up knowing they can make history in capturing the trophy for the first time.
