Funding Support for Community & Voluntary Groups

Funding Support for Community & Voluntary Groups

Pobal, on behalf of The Department Of Community, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs is now inviting applications from Community and Voluntary organisations for funding under two Programmes of Grants for Community and Voluntary Organisations.

Programme 1. Offers two schemes of once-off grants to organisations with an income of under €100,000 p.a.

  • Scheme of Refurbishment Grants

Grants will be made to a range of local community and voluntary organisations with a focus on addressing disadvantage or where evidence of need has been clearly identified in their communities.

  • Scheme of Equipment Grants

The objective of this scheme is to support the activities of local community and voluntary organisations that are addressing disadvantage in their communities

Note: While sports activities will not be eligible for funding, many football clubs provide football related services to members of their community e.g. After school projects, community meetings, services for the elderly etc.  Therefore, it is important in any application to this fund to minimize the football / sporting context and to maximise the service related aspects of the application.
Programme 2.

  • Scheme of Training Grants

The aim of the Programme is to support or enhance the activities of community and voluntary groups both national and local who are addressing disadvantage in the community.
These Programmes are part funded from funds made available by the National Lottery.
There is no closing date for receipt of completed applications, however, as funding is limited, organisations are advised to submit their applications as soon as possible.

Applications will be accepted on the official forms only, which can be downloaded from the links below. Hardcopies of application are currently available from:
