
The FAI Under-16 Emerging Talent squad to participate in next week's Umbro Galway Cup has been selected.
English Premier League title holders, Manchester City, are amongst the other teams in the prestigious underage soccer competition, now in its eight successive year.
Drom Soccer Park, home to Salthill Devon FC, will once again play host to this thrilling tournament and consisting of five sections - the 1995 Cup, 1997 Elite, 1997 Boys, 1999 Boys and 1999 Elite. This will see 120 matches take place over the four days from Wednesday until finals day on Saturday, August 11.
This year's 1997 Boys Elite Competition is set to provide some of the most standout matches the tournament has ever seen.
Kicking off on Wednesday, August 8 at 10.40am, the FAI will face Aberdeen. The first Russian representation at the Galway cup, Dynamo Moscow, will face Norwegian club Valerenga at 11.50am. Manchester City take on Maccabi Haifa at 1pm.
