FAI U16 ETP squad claim third at Coca-Cola Irish Cup

The FAI Under-16 Emerging Talent Programme squad completed their Coca-Cola Irish Cup campaign on Sunday at the AUL Complex in Dublin by defeating Ajax Hellias 3-0 in the third/fourth place play-off.

After suffering a couple of disappointing results in the group stages, the FAI squad clicked on the final day to overcome the Academy side affiliated to Dutch club.

On target for the FAI were Derek Daly of St Kevin's Boys and St Joseph's Boys player Conaill Dunne, who grabbed a brace.

Another panel lof Under-16 players from the ETP will head to the Umbro Galway Cup next month when they'll get to experience top-level games against opposition from Ireland, UK and Europe.

Both squads, along with other players in the age-group, will be continually assessed by Republic of Ireland Under-16 Head Coach John Morling and his staff ahead of the opening U-16 games of the season against Estonia in the Autumn.
