We trained twice today in preparation for Tuesday's match. The training sessions have been really good, everybody had enjoyed them and we're all in good shape. Brendan Moloney had a knock coming into the squad and it hasn't got any better so he has had to drop out, with Kevin Long from Cork City coming in to replace him.
DAY FIVE
After our light session yesterday, we got back into full training today with two sessions. We were training at a local pitch so I haven't seen the RSC yet but I'm told that the pitch there is in good condition.
We trained in the morning and in the evening, breaking for lunch in between. Everybody is in good spirits. Stephen Gleeson is suspended for Tuesday and James Berrett is injured, so they have both gone home. Conor Clifford and Scott Davies are on their way down to join us.
DAY FOUR
After breakfast we made our way down to Waterford to prepare for our second match of the week, against Switzerland at the RSC on Tuesday night.
The disappointment of Friday night is gone now, so we are all focusing on Tuesday's game. We trained at 4.30pm and then after dinner settled down to watch the action in Croke Park. It was a real pity the lads conceded the late equaliser, but they played well and at least now we know that we have the play-off position secured.
As for the Under-21s, we are going to train twice on Sunday and twice on Monday ahead of Tuesday's match. Our last game in the RSC was a sell-out so we're hoping that a vocal home support can help us against the Swiss.
Day Three
We are all very disappointed with the result of the match against Georgia. We went 1-0 up and really could have gone on to score more goals, but we let them in late on and ended up drawing the match.
The game started well for us and I was delighted that I got the goal to put us in the lead. I really thought we'd push on and win the match so we are all disappointed to have drawn the game.
Thankfully, we have another game on Tuesday so that will give us a chance to put the Georgia match behind us. We are all focused on the match against Switzerland in the RSC on Tuesday night.
Day Two:
We trained in the Tallaght Stadium in the morning. It was great to have a look at the new stadium. It's a really impressive set-up and we're all looking forward to playing in it.
