FAI Hold Open Consultation on Intercultural Football Strategy
Friday, 23 February 2007 16:27
The FAI’s partners in the FIAG are the Dept of Justice Equality and Law Reform, The National Consultative Committee on Racism and Interculturalism, Sport Against Racism in Ireland and Show Racism the Red Card.
The Open Consultation Workshop will inform the ongoing consultative process towards the development of an Intercultural Strategy for Irish football. This workshop is part of a developmental process which began in 2006 with the appointment of Des Tomlinson as the National Intercultural Football Programme Coordinator and has already involved extensive discussions with key stakeholders both internal and external to the FAI.
Research on best practice within other European countries in the area of interculturalism, integration and football has also been undertaken. A broad range of participants have been invited to contribute to the open consultation. We hope that the valuable input from this day will form a major part of our Intercultural Football Strategic Plan.
