FAI Coach Education deliver their 1000th Kick Start 1 Course!

FAI Coach Education was recently recognised by Coaching Ireland as being the first sport in Ireland to deliver 1000 coach education courses at one particular level. The milestone was reached as the 1000th Kick Start 1 course was delivered in the University of Limerick in November 2010.

Greig Paterson, FAI National Co-ordinator of Coach Education, said,
"It really is a fantastic achievement, and testament to all the hard work, not only of all the FAI Development Officers who promote, organise and deliver the courses, but particularly of all the coaches who give up their time in order to attend the courses.
Whilst it is a tremendous milestone we have reached, it is amazing to think just how many players that this affects. We now have in excess of 25,000 coaches who have completed the Kick Start 1 course, and if the average attendance at one of their training sessions is at least 12 players, then it is incredible to think that those coaches have, in turn, affected the training practices of at least 300,000 players."

Paul Hamill, FAI Education Manager added that,
"The FAI are delighted to reach this milestone, however we are fully committed to encouraging these Introductory coaches to move up the coaching ladder to reach their own potential. We now also have more options for coaches of young players with Small-Sided Games Workshops and Strength and Conditioning Workshops available nationwide".
