PITCH MAINTENANCE WORKSHOP

Due to overwhelming demand at its first workshop in Tallaght last month, The FAI’s Facility Development Department has once again teamed up with The Sports Turf Research Institute and Everris to provide workshop for Groundstaff and officials responsible for the management of football pitches on Saturday 21^st April next at Cahir Park FC, Cahir, Co Tipperary.

The workshop will be a mix of presentations and practical demonstrations provided by Dr Ian McClements and Conor Nolan of the STRI.

The morning session will consist of practical demonstrations on the application of Fertilisers and a practical session on Pitch Presentation.

The afternoon session will consist of practical demonstration on undertaking Pitch Renovations including Aeration, Vertidraining and Sanding as well as Post Match Repairs.

Further presentations on preparing a budget for pitch maintenance as well as the steps to take when planning the construction of a new pitch will also be delivered.
