Kantar Media FAI Communications Awards 2013
The Football Association of Ireland today (June 17) unveiled Kantar Media as title sponsor of the Kantar Media FAI Communications Awards.
Kantar Media is Ireland's largest media monitoring and evaluation business. Its services monitor press, broadcast, internet and social media in Ireland and internationally through its global network. The operation includes KantarSport, a specialist unit which offers dedicated monitoring and evaluation within the sports sector.
The Kantar Media FAI Communications Awards recognise the excellent work at local, regional and national level to promote Irish football. They are open to journalists, newspapers, broadcasters (TV and radio), webmasters, Public Relations Officers, photographers and clubs and leagues who have contributed over the past 12 months using an array of communications tools.
The awards will be presented on July 19 at the delegates pre-AGM Dinner in the Arklow Bay hotel, Co. Wicklow.
Commenting on the launch, Dan Halliwell, Managing Director of Kantar Media Ireland said,

Kantar Media FAI Communications Awards Categories
Best Written ArticleThe best written article category will feature separate awards for national and regional articles. This award is open to journalists and contributors who have written an article or articles on any aspect of Irish football during the qualifying period. It can be a match report or preview, an interview, a feature, a column, a blog or a news story that gives a unique insight into the workings of Irish football at local, regional, national or international level. A maximum of three articles may be submitted by any entrant. The article or articles must have appeared in a newspaper, magazine or website during the qualifying period.
Best Broadcast ItemThe best broadcast item category will feature separate awards for national and regional articles. This award is open to journalists and contributors who have broadcast an item on any aspect of Irish football during the qualifying period. It can be a match report, preview or commentary, an interview, a feature, a documentary or a news story that gives a unique insight into the workings of Irish football at local, regional, national or international level. A maximum of three pieces may be submitted in support of an entry. All entries must be no more than 30 minutes long. The item or items must have been broadcast on radio, television or the internet during the qualifying period.
Best WebsiteThis is an award for the best website belonging to a club or league affiliated to the Football Association of Ireland. The entry for this award should include the website address and a 500 word summary detailing its evolution and features. The judges will visit the site and evaluate it.
Best PROThis is an award for the best Public Relations Officers attached to a club or league affiliated to the Football Association of Ireland for work done during the qualifying period. The entry should include a 500 word summary detailing the work carried out by the PRO together with at least five supporting samples.
Best PublicationThis is an award for the best publication by a club, league or affiliate of the Football Association of Ireland. It could be a match programme, a yearbook, a history or a commemorative booklet which has been published during the qualifying period. The entry for this award must include a copy of the publication.
Best PhotographThis is an award for the best photograph taken during the qualifying period by an amateur or professional photographer of an Irish grassroots football theme. It can be in colour or black & white. The entry for this award must include a 10" x 8" print of the photograph
Hall of FameThis is an award for outstanding service from a member of the media to Irish soccer through their reporting or broadcasting of the game. The nomination must be made by a club, league or affiliate of the Football Association of Ireland. The nomination should be in the form of a 500 word summary detailing why the person nominated deserves to be inducted into the FAI Communications Awards Hall of Fame.
The 2013 Awards will cover the period from June 1, 2012 to May 30, 2013 and entries must be submitted by July 1, 2013. Entries must be submitted by post. Entry forms can be downloaded on www.fai.ie/kantarfaimediaawards
