Currys and PC World becomes official FAI supporter

The Football Association of Ireland today announced that Currys and PC World, Ireland's leading specialist electrical retailers, have become official supporters of the Football Association Of Ireland (FAI) in the build to this summer's UEFA European Championships hosted by Poland and Ukraine. The agreement, which lasts for the duration of the tournament, will see Currys and PC World, proudly supporting Irish football at an important stage of its development. The Republic Of Ireland football team is one of 16 national sides, also including Spain, Germany and England, competing at the Euros this June.

Welcoming the agreement, FAI CEO, John Delaney said: "We thank Currys and PC World for supporting Irish football during this great time for our game. The partnership will bring significant benefits to their business and will at the same time help us continue our significant investment in the development of the sport throughout Ireland."

Currys and PC World Commercial Director (Ireland) Peter Gallogly added: "We are thrilled to be partnering with the FAI and Republic Of Ireland team ahead of the big tournament. We have hundreds of dedicated colleagues working in our 28 Irish stores - a squad of our own - and every single one of them is ready to get behind the boys this summer as an official supporter. We've got our fingers crossed."

Currys and PC World's Irish stores will be offering incredible deals on the latest TVs over the next few weeks, so that fans unable to fly out to Poland and Ukraine can watch all the key games with the best possible picture and sound quality. Customer competitions are also planned and an extensive marketing campaign celebrating Irish football's biggest ever moments.

Currys and PC World Marketing Manager (Ireland) Ruth Brett said: "Our stores will be bringing our national team's greatest glory moments vividly to life this summer. We have an exciting marketing campaign ready to go that will remind shoppers, and fans, of the Irish team's proud history and encourage people to believe we can go really far, if not all the way, in June. We're so excited to be supporting Irish football."
