We all know the importance of setting ‘Standards’ in Football, and we are probably all aware of how good standards can positively impact clubs and the wider community. Setting standards around how we embrace the diversity in our communities, and vice versa, has benefits for clubs, communities and society as a whole.
With this in mind in 2009 the FAI’s Intercultural Football Programme piloted a Grassroots Good Practice Scheme called ‘Grassroots Intercultural Football Standards’ (GIFS’ for short), designed to encourage and support greater connections between local Clubs and New Communities, providing a two way pathway to engage both children and adults in local communities who might not currently be aware of the football opportunities on offer.
In 2014/2015, we are looking to build on the success of the pilots and progress the scheme. If your club or group would be interested in taking part in this scheme please email firstname.lastname@example.org to express an interest.
