FAI Women’s Under 12 Blitz Finals to take place this weekend
Eight regional qualifiers took place in recent months, with the two winners from each event advancing to the National Finals this weekend.
34 games will take place in a nine-a-side format over the day, with the Cup Final and Shield Final kicking-off simultaneously at 3.30pm.
Speaking ahead of Sunday’s blitz, the FAI’s National Coordinator for Women's Football Emma Martin, was looking forward to a busy afternoon with the future stars of the women’s game.
“We’re delighted to welcome the final 16 teams to AUL this weekend to what has become an iconic event for our Under 12 clubs nationwide.
“Not only is there representation from all corners of the country, there is a festival and fun atmosphere throughout the day.
“Women’s National League sponsors Continental Tyres bring their Festival of Football Activities and we introduce these young girls to their roles models.
“It’s a great event for all participants and I’d like to wish every team the very best of luck and I hope they enjoy the day.”
The group stages begin over four pitches at 11am, with all 16 teams guaranteed to play at least four matches on the day.
Group A: Holycross (Tipperary), Home Farm (Dublin), Lakewood Athletic (Cork), Evergreen (Kilkenny).
Group B: Westport United (Mayo), Cabinteely (Dublin), Tullamore Town (Offaly), Carrick Rovers (Monaghan).
Group C: Lagan Harps (Donegal), Newbridge United (Kildare), Ringmahon Rangers (Cork), Cavan Shamrocks (Cavan).
Group D: New Ross Town (Wexford), Real Tubber (Sligo), Newtown Forbes (Longford), Cashel Town (Tipperary).
