Stephen Ward and Ciara Grant launch FAI eFlow Summer Soccer Schools 2012
Republic of Ireland senior stars Stephen Ward and Ciara Grant were in Aviva Stadium today (Thursday, May 3) to launch the FAI eFlow Summer Soccer Schools programme for 2012. The camps, held over 300 venues nationwide, are open to boys and girls of all abilities from the ages of 6 to 14. The camps provide great value for money and are focused on participation rather than competition.
Beginning on July 2, and running right through to the end of August, each week-long (Monday-Friday 10.30am to 3pm) school is delivered by Garda vetted FAI Qualified coaches in a safe and professional environment and is overseen by a network of FAI development officers.
The camps are designed to cater for all players, regardless of ability. Kids new to the game will learn all of the fundamental skills that a budding footballer needs. If they’re already experienced, the camps will help players to hone existing talent and introduce new tricks.
On the first day of each camp, each participant will receive a full set of kit, a football and a backpack – all exclusive to the eFlow FAI Summer Soccer Schools!
Along with our Mainstream Camps, we also have specialised Goalkeeper Camps that cater for the specific needs of the goalkeeper and Girls-Only Camps which allow girls to attend a camp with just other girls if they’d like. As always, girls are welcome on all of our camps.
Speaking at the launch, Republic of Ireland and Wolves defender Stephen Ward said, “The eFlow FAI Summer Soccer Schools are an exciting place to be this summer. I have no doubt that kids from all over the country will be eager to get out on the pitch in a special year for Irish football. The camps are great fun and a super opportunity to build your football skills in a safe environment.â€
John Delaney FAI Chief Executive said, "Our Summer Soccer Schools are a great way of getting children out of the house and into the fresh air to enjoy themselves. We are delighted to welcome eFlow on board as sponsors for this wonderful programme. This is a very exciting time for Irish football with EURO 2012 just around the corner and we are really looking forward to working with eFlow to increase participation among young people around the country."
Simon McBeth, Director of Communications and Customer Relations at eFlow welcomed today’s launch, “eFlow has been involved in supporting many local initiatives at grassroots level. We are keen to give something back and to lend our support where we can. The FAI Summer Soccer Schools benefits over 20,000 children across the country. We are proud to partner with the FAI and to assist in cultivating young talent and support aspiring players of the future.â€
Due to the camps’ increasing popularity, interested participants are encouraged to book early to avoid disappointment. Further information can be found at: www.summersoccerschools.ie or by calling 1890 OLÉ OLÉ (that’s 1890 653 653!)
