Clubs from all around the country are invited to enter this prestigious competition by downloading the application form from the Domestic and Grassroots section of www.fai.ie or by contacting the secretary of the Junior Council, Denis Cruise, on 087 256 2794. Closing date for entry is Friday next, August 24th.

It was  also announced that Aviva will now become partners to the prestigious competition. This is an even more significant development as the FAI Junior council will also celebrate their centenary in 2013.

Speaking about the announcement Paul Grimes, Director of General Insurance Aviva Ireland said 'Aviva's involvement in Irish sport does not end at our sponsorship of Aviva Stadium; it’s our grassroots programmes like the Aviva FAI Club of the Year which touch communities right across Ireland. That's why we are delighted to now be supporting the historic FAI Junior Cup, involving close to 1,000 soccer clubs in Ireland all now embarking on the 'road to the Aviva'. We wish them all the very best of luck!'

Jonathan Courtney of Umbro said ‘Umbro have been heavily involved with the Junior Cup for a number of years, we are delighted that the final will take place in the Aviva Stadium next year, it will be a fitting venue for the centenary of the Junior Council. Umbro are committed to the grassroots of the game and will continue to be involved in football at all levels into the future.’

Dennis Cruise, Hon. Secretary of the FAI Junior Council said "It Is a tremendous boost for Junior Football and I am sure it will be a wonderful occasion for the two teams that reach the final and for the Match Officials. On behalf of the Junior Council I wish to place on record our thanks to the CEO John Delaney and Aviva for their support of the Junior game".
